Reading out in the sunshine

Elijah and i are reading Percy Jackson and the Olympians * Tale of the Lightning Thief. We enjoyed taking in a chapter out in the side yard in the sunshine several days back. The kitties joined us =) Look at Elijah's cute long hair while you can! It's all cut off now and he looks like such a big boy (i cant stand it). It looks good if you aren't me though. Sooner or later i will put pics up.

My aunt Ramona got me a spinning wheel for christmas. Since i've always used a drop spindle i really dont know all that much about spinning wheels. i have some really bad picstures i am posting. Its night time and so i went in the hallway and took pics with my cell phone because it was actually one of the best places for the light. not much room, not great lighting, and the fact that they are taken with the phone make them blurry and icky but you will get an idea. i need help figuring out what is missing and where to get the parts. i know it is missing the drive band or whatever you call it. there is also a hole (that you will see in the pics) that appears to have a purpose and i figue it is the keep the wheel on the body. with the pedally thingy (i hope you speak Lacyese because i have my own language)connected to the body and wheel i know it should pedal ... and it does but it hits the ground and wont continue to spin the wheel. i figure if all else fails i can jack it up with bricks/books or something lol. it doesnt have to be pretty i just want it to work.

Last week part 2

And i forgot to say... Elijah caught his very first fish the other day =) He was all worked up about it for a couple days.

Last week part 1

Well these pics aremt exactly in order but thats ok. Last week we were outside having fun. Most of the time =) We couldnt help ourselves because it was just that nice out. We visited Morrie/ the pond, played in Wolf Bay, hung out in E's dad's back yard and our back yard. I got some ouchy mean thorny vines and baby oaks out of my blueberry bushes. If the wind dies down we will burn a couple piles of vines that we cut out of the yard this winter. When i catch up around the house i need a day to bake bready necessities. Then i will go on another beer coozie crocheting and felting extravaganza =)

... And finish sewing those damn pants.

Wordless Wednesday

Waiting for Warmth

We have had a few springish days sprinkled in with the cold ones. I just want the chilly winds to calm down a bit! I guess i shouldn't try to speed up spring since i still havent hemmed the 2 pairs of corduroy pants i made for Elijah... or put in the waistbands! You can't see the well in the picture since the latter part of today has been overcast. So please leave me a comment urging me to sew. It really does help with my motivation!
Well at least i accomplished *something* lately. A few days ago i finished a pretty coffee mug cozy =) that i will one day soon add to my etsy shop. If only the laptop fairy would come visit and bring the internet access fairy along with her! In the meantime, the daffodils & tulip trees are blooming. The temperatures may be dropping again, but the pretty flowers are telling me spring will be here soon. Until then Elijah & I will be pigheaded running barefoot on the beach with many layers of clothes =) =) =)

Fun friday (and thursday too)

Elijah and i did lots of fun things thursday and friday... Which means there was nothing else accomplished. No cleaning or hemming or really anything! The cats got fed and that was about all! It was like a stressful minivacation =) but at least Elijah had fun. Thursday we went to the childrens park in Orange Beach where Elijah played and made new friends. Then we went to Morrie's and walked around the pond. Elijah learned to bowl on the wii (1st pic). He got a strike his first try =) and bowled a 124 his first game. Lucky kid. On friday we fished in the pond. I caught 2 little bass and E was thrilled. Of course we threw 'em back. In the evening we went to the new restaurant in west beach where E's dad works. It was their grand opening so they had free food! We ate outside. E is quite silly and wanted his picture taken with the salt then later on the pepper (bottom pic). He's a bit strange =) fun fun fun. Now can you tell im blogging to procrastinate a little longer?
