This week

This week was pretty fun :) we went on a field trip to the Saenger Theater in Mobile www.mobilesaenger.com/
to see A Christmas Carol on Thursday. Sorry for my lack of photos...
On Friday we made Cinnamon dough ornaments. They smell amazing! Just two ingredients... Cinnamon and apple sauce! I followed this recipe  http://happyhourprojects.com/cinnamon-dough-ornaments/
I saw several that said to add glue but I really didn't want to so I opted to use one  that did not call for glue.
It takes awhile for these suckers to dry. I have them in the oven now on super low drying them a bit more. The entire house smells great :) Once the cinnamon dough dries a bit more, we will cut ribbon and makes a few into ornaments and string the rest into a garland.
Elijah started decorating grandma's tree last night too :)
Obviously it wasn't cold here yesterday. Today it's chilly! Up next we will make a pomme!

Elijah's presentation

Elijah had a presentation at school. One student from each 2nd grade class was selected to stand up in front if the whole school and read about a famous Spanish/Hispanic American. Elijah reads well (and is not shy by any means) so he was chosen for his class. He was Pancho Gonzales, a famous self taught tennis player. This photo was taken the evening the presentation was performed for the parents.

A trip to the nature preserve

Prior to getting sick Elijah and I went to the Graham Creek Nature Preserve. We hiked around and saw carnivorous plants :) and lily pads and such. Here are a few pics. As you can see Toady went with us!

Sicky

Last Tuesday Elijah woke up coughing a bunch. I told him to go back to sleep and I'd wake him up in an hour or two and maybe he'd be better and get to go to school. Well he just went downhill. He ate some breakfast and then started throwing up every time he ate or drank something. It was horrible. By the evening time I decided to take him to the ER. He had been wheezing horribly all day. He had not kept anything down for long. I knew he probably would need an IV of fluids and that made me sad! We got there and honestly it was horrible. Poor poor kiddo! He had an IV of fluids, IV antibiotics, a breathing treatment, oral steroid, a steroid shot, and two X-rays. Poor poor little E! Today was his first day back to school so yay he is feeling much better. They said he had a little touch of pneumonia in one of his lungs. So glad it was just "a little" pneumonia!!

Just another day

Here are a few pics. Elijah found a kumquat tree :) and was quite enamored with them! There is a Camellia right beside the kumquats. All of the azaleas are staring to bloom. I'll take some pics of those soon. <3

I will try

I have the blogger app for my phone now so maybe just maybe I will be able to post more. I need to go to my old blog and maybe have a few throwback posts! Like when I was pregnant with Elijah!!!!! I have not crafted much at all in the past year but really really want to again. I feel better about myself when I am creating. Soooooo... Maybe I will have something to post soon! I'm sure a few words of encouragement might help motivate me. Hint hint ;)
